"Home" is the first official single of The Mothers Ensemble created by the singer and artist Yael Deckelbaum. Following the phenomenal success of "Prayer of the Mothers", with close to seven million views on Youtube and Facebook, Yael created the ensemble which has won recognition on social media with over two million views for the song "This Land". And over 135 thousand views for the first ensemble live performance at the Menashe Forrest Festival. Since then, the ensemble hasn't stopped filling performance halls all over the country.
Yael: "We are on the way. There are 12 women in the ensemble from left and right, secular, religious, settlers, Arab and Jewish women and together we have gone through an extra ordinary journey of encounters that peaked this last September during the "Journey to Peace" of the movement "Women Wage Peace". The members of the ensemble agreed to participate, meet and march with Palestinian women. We sang together on one stage and it was an awakening and powerful experience to partake in the events.
We don't agree on all matters, but there's a fundamental openness to explore together the humanity that hides behind all the definitions and identities that separate us. This ensemble for us, is the formation of an achievable peaceful existence that can be reached when approached with an open heart and while exploring together the plain truths while using music as a uniting tool."
The video clip of the song documents the ensembles' appearance in the peak events of the "Journey to Peace" where over 30,000 thousand women and men marched together for peace.
The ensemble will launch its first EP on the 20th of December at Abraham Hostel Tel Aviv and will host Aveva Dese and Ester Rada who both took part in the "Journey to Peace".
The EP carries in it the spirit of the revolution and is composed of two studio recordings, four songs recorded live and contains street recordings from the "Journey to Peace" marches.
Yael: "I am excited to musically empower the movement of "Women Wage Peace" and any initiative focused on uniting, healing and the formation of a new language, a language that will carry us on the route towards a better existence on this land."
